Hidden Secrets
& Mysteries To Solve!
Spies, Assassins and fun!
Welcome to the Public Eye.
-
We are a group of for hire assassins that take out public assigned targets that come under our watch. We're the rats of the wasteland that help the public by convincing them to snitch on their friends so we can deliver a Toe Tag "Kill" receipt to the victim.
-
We're vigilant spies of the wasteland doing the bidding of the people, putting hits out and making a targets name publicly known as part of our themed missions.
-
Why did we start hunting people for little to no reason? WE WERE BORED, and why not make some friends over a dead body.
-
We lure in guests with games of chance giving them the chance to win prizes or convince them to snitch on their friends to be part of the fun missions.
-
We run a speakeasy lounge with secrets and hidden games where individual attendees can get the chance to join in on investigations and discover mysteries hands on.
-
Our dingy truck stop is our apocalyptic ratz nest we call home and use as a base of operations. The lore behind the Red Rocket Truck Stop location is that it's one of the only buildings we haven't accidentally completely blown up... yet. We have been using the supplies scavenged from the location to make mixed drinks/chems to use in our bar. Our specialty drink is RAD Radiation ☢️ Water.
-
This is a Fallout+ themed location and we do partner to run missions between the sister Red Rocket Garage at Wasteland Weekend.
Character Backstories

Nutz
Alignment: Chaotic Neutral Character Goal or Motivation: To see the best explosions, win with the biggest bomb. Occupation: Nutz is a crazy adrenaline junkie, Just ask and they will assist you in creating unhinged destructive art. Best Known For: Inventing dangerous fun. Like smoking and playing with bombs on top of a gas pump. How did they come to join the Public Eye?: Created the Public Eye by accidently blowing the roof off an abandoned Red Rocket Truck Stop not realizing there was people inside of it. Friends were made, a sturdy fortress was established. Backstory Lore: Just another typical survivor way too bored trying to get by with the little they had. Things were lackluster watching the tumble weeds roll by the abandoned ruins. People knew that they were going to have to be creative in order to have some fun, but they didn’t realize some might take it too far. One drifter decided to do that with fireworks. But these fireworks were more like actual fire. Bomb after bomb was crafted, honing skills and filling up the shelves to the brim trying to make the perfect explosion. Stockpiles of metal casings and gunpowder was strewn about on the floor of the war bus Shelia they had come to call home. Day in and day out they continued building. Till the one night it was finished. Years poured into mastering the perfect 6 seconds of sparkle, final complete. Without a second thought the hooded individual pushed aside the other grenades and stumbled out the bus. Disorderly running through the streets out of the secured encampment into the desert night. Looking back once to make sure the firelight of the camp was just far enough in the distance, the person stopped abruptly. Pausing only for a moment to catch their breath they made on last deep inhale, closed their eyes and pulled the pin. They then launched the grenade straight into the sky above their head. Eyes snapping open in wonderment to begin a loud count down starting calm at first and then bursting with excitement as the final number approached. “One, two, Three, Four, FIVE, SIX…” 20 feet above in the sky a bright light of white flashed through the darkness unleashing a powerful roar. Their eyes were fixed on the sky, uncaring of the damage and devastation erupting around them. Watching in awe as the sparks erupted from the incendiary projectile leading to a final concussive shockwave that gouged the ground around the person knocking them away form the initial blast zone. Then next sounds to be head was the yelling of the other drifters running to address the commotion. They had assumed it would be intruders but were shocked to only to find one of their own passed out smiling amongst a pit of rubble. “This is fucking crazy” “get out of here!” “What are you doing? “Your nuts!” the drifters screamed before running away. Slowing waking up in the rubble the only thing the hooded individual could hear was the reverberating of “Your nuts, your nuts… your nuts…” slowly repeating over and over like an echo as their ringing ears calmed and the environment settled around them. Shooting up from the ground like nothing ever happened the person screamed excitedly “I’m… NUTZ” while shooting their hand proudly into the air showing off the pull pin ornament saved from the recently thrown grenade. Needless to say the other drifters were not excited about their new rouge bomber companion and proceeded to slowly move on to other encampments over time. No one ever wanted to be woken up by bombing or see the fireworks 24/7, It started to become a challenge ti find others that wanted to play. All semblance of reason disappeared and from that point on it became Nutz’s passion to find friends that appreciated their explosive toys. With that they decided to set out to find other outcasts that wanted to sneak their way back into the heart of public spaces, and thus The Public Eye was born as a safe space for the eccentric outcasts to be welcomed.

Doc Seven
Alignment: Lawful Evil Character Goal or Motivation: Doc Seven has a tragic addiction to sunglasses. Occupation: Traveling Physician Best Known For: For commenting that the apocalypse only improved the American health care system. How did they come to join the Public Eye?: Doc Seven was trying to hide from soldiers of a militant, technology-hoarding group and sought refuge with the Public Eye. Backstory Lore: Hailing from Little America, the ruins of what was once Canada, Doc Seven is a traveling physician who occasionally also delivers letters and packages between the small towns of the Waste. He was captured by a militant, technology-hoarding group in the wastelands of what used to be Texas and was forced into indentured servitude, but he was able to escape. He’s been looking for a place where he can lay low and plan his next steps… and sometimes, the best hiding place is in plain sight.

Dead Fish
Alignment: Neutral Good Character Goal or Motivation: Try to reproduce the pre-war spice mix "Old Bae" using things available post-war Occupation: Drifter with an eclectic skill set, including but not limited to electronics and old world computers. Best Known For: A passion for the ocean (what's left of it), particularly the things in it that can be eaten. How did they come to join the Public Eye?: Heard they hunted mirelurks, found out they don't anymore but stuck around out of curiosity. Backstory Lore: Dead Fish is from the area of the Capital Wasteland known as Peejee belonging to a family that included watermen, a term that, in the post-war days, has come to include both those who make their living directly on the water and those who go a bit further inland hunting mirelurks. She learned a bit of both. Her family was successful enough to trade their excess to other groups, including with a recently opened vault in the area. Being something of a New World foodie, she took to wandering, and eventually made her way all the way to the other coast, intent on comparing the seafood with what she knew back home (while she'll admit that it's quite good, she wasn't particularly impressed with their mirelurk cakes). At one point, she heard that the Public Eye had some sort of association with mirelurks (she wasn't sure whether they hunted them, kept them as pets, or what), but when she found them, she learned that her news was outdated. However, they seemed interesting enough, and so she stuck around.

Riot
Alignment: Chaotic Good Character Goal or Motivation: To build a new society free from the oppressive structures of the before times. Occupation: Mechanic Best Known For: Getting intoxicated and yelling at random passers-by about Kropotkin. How did they come to join the Public Eye?: Read on! Lore: In a world ravaged by chaos and destruction, Riot found solace and purpose in the predictability of machinery. They developed a knack for fixing what others deemed beyond repair. Their skills as a mechanic became essential for survival in a world where functioning vehicles were both prized and rare. Despite their talents as a mechanic, though, Riot's true passion lay elsewhere. They voraciously devoured any written material they could find, studying political theory and philosophies for alternatives to the oppressive systems that brought about the apocalypse. Riot's unyielding spirit and desire for societal change led them to engage in political discussions wherever they went. They spoke passionately about dismantling hierarchies, redistributing resources, and building a new, more equitable society from the ruins of what came before. Despite a philosophical aversion to violence, Riot faced the harsh reality of the wasteland, where survival often meant aligning with less-than-ideal factions. It was during a particularly vulnerable and desperate time that they encountered Nutz's tribe of mercenaries. Intrigued by the potential for political influence and driven by a sense of duty to bring about change, Riot made the difficult decision to join the Public Eye. They saw an opportunity to infiltrate Nutz's group, sow seeds of dissent, and catalyze change from within all while gaining access to valuable resources (and explosives!). Riot believed that by becoming an invaluable asset to the tribe through their mechanical expertise, they could slowly influence the tight-knit group of raiders toward collectivist ideals. Underneath the seemingly contrary alliance, Riot remained resolute in their ultimate goal: dismantling oppressive structures and establishing a new world order based on cooperation, equality, and shared resources. They recognized that the path they had chosen was a treacherous one. However, they were prepared to endure, using their skills and knowledge to make the most of their situation and inch closer to the vision of a just and liberated society.
